Liri Holdings Group started with 10 founding members from Japan and Europe. Aiming to make cross border business simple and cheaper, they started building up a Money platform which ultimately became i-Account.

Liri Holdings Group is a financial company offering Ewallet solutions, money transfer, prepaid debit cards, merchant account services, business consultancy and offshore incorporation. They have offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Taiwan, South Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Ireland, United Kingdom, New Zealand and now in the UAE since 2016. Plans to setup new offices in Africa and the Pacific region to fulfill the requirements of their worldwide clientele are being considered.

They are classified as a Fintech company which serve retail clients and corporate clients. Their corporate clients specifically are provided with convenient and cheaper services than traditional banks and white-labeled services with their technologies.

Their Senior Vice President, Mr Samuel says “Listening to our client’s needs and total understanding of their requirements; after which we tailor-make a solution for each client has been the primary strategy for Liri Holdings success”. They do not provide off the shelf products but understand each client and their needs are personalized accordingly.

Being in the Fintech industry, they invest very wisely in their Information Technology infrastructure. Ensuring they are always up to date in technology is critical & the prime focus, since they deal with client information which is extremely confidential.

Also, since all their services are duly licensed, there is also the fact that they are liable not only to their clients; but also to their regulators in Hong Kong, UAE, Philippines, UK, New Zealand, Singapore amongst others. Thus, being extremely cautious in their choice of IT infrastructure and software for their IT park and they continue to enhance this infrastructure.

Running such a business is very challenging, because it comprises of so many aspects of technology, management, finance, banking, business development and compliance all together.

Liri Holdings Group has 3 main pillars:

  • Firstly, its own Money Platform which is a secured e-wallet solution known as i-Account (www.i-Account.cc). i-Account allows clients to open an account with them, where they can receive funds and make remittance transactions within a secured web based solution or through a mobile app. i-Account is available for both individual clients as well as corporate clients and is a worldwide e-wallet/remittance solution.
  • Secondly, to complement their i-Account users; they have also introduced i-Cards which basically are prepaid debit cards. Funds can be transferred instantly from the client’s wallet to the i-Card, which can be used for ATM withdrawals worldwide, Point of Sale payments and online. I-Card is extremely convenient for payment of salaries for overseas workers and is a huge savings for companies. Imagine if your company has 1,000 employees worldwide and you need to process 1,000 remittances with your bank and how much the bank will charge for those wire transfers. Using the i-Card, those costs are reduced by more than 75%.
  • Then they also run their very own payment gateway to allow clients process credit card transactions for their online stores, with a sister company i-Payments (www.i-payments.com) based in the UK and IAC Payment Services Provider (www.iac-psp.ae) based in Dubai, UAE.

Lastly, they also provide a white label solution which integrate all of the above.

While the client base for Liri group mainly consist of banks, corporates & payment service providers; they seem to continue focusing more on B2B and proudly position themselves as a money infrastructure for corporate and financial institutions, which is their competitive edge.

In general, it is understood that Inter-Bank transfer is based on swift transaction but apart from swift, there are many other money transfer methods existing independently. It is necessary to integrate all these methods together for customer’s convenience and benefit. Additionally, small companies and a lot of individuals are not satisfied with existing bank services. There are needs to provide an alternative banking and financial solution to such customers.
